If you install the UltimaSMS app, it will instantly check your phone’s location, IMEI and phone number to find out which country area code and language will be used in the scam. When you open the app, you will see a screen in your language asking you to enter your phone number and/or email address.
Once you submit the information, the app will sign you up for a premium SMS service that can cost upwards of $40 per month. At this point, the app will offer more subscription options or will simply stop working. You will then be charged each week by the fraud service.
