Google Spaces Set Up Use Chat – Google Chat allows you to have conversations with your students, both 1:1 and in groups of three or more. While it allows students to talk to each other in person, too many young, mischievous minds gathered together may not be the best idea. For example, students may use or abuse group chat spaces and options to share irrelevant, inappropriate and problematic content with each other. The spaces themselves can be inappropriately designated for “specific” purposes which can lead to a harmful environment for easily influenced minds. This is in direct contrast to the constructive and informative atmosphere you work so hard to create for and within them.
‘Spaces’ used to be ‘rooms’. Google renamed it on September 8, 2021. Functionality remains the same.

Safe Doc chrome extension comes to your aid in preventing some problematic students from negatively influencing others. If you have yet to install Safe Doc for your Google Workplace domain, try it with a free 30-day trial.
Update Terbaru Google Chat: Kapasitas Space Lebih Besar
Safe Doc allows you to completely remove the new group chat and new space options, eliminating the possibility of students even creating them.
In the search bar, students natively have the option to create and find group conversations. Safe Doc eliminates the Start Group Chat, Create Space, and Search Spaces options from the search bar.
In the left panel where all chat conversations are visible, group conversations also appear, while spaces are also visible just below that list. After implementing Safe Doc’s BlockChatRooms feature, group chats are removed from the chat list and the entire Spaces dropdown menu is no longer available.
Any direct message to a friend or colleague has the option to convert into a group chat by adding more people. After the change, the Start New Chat menu that allows this to happen is removed.
Guide People To Their Goals With Interactivity
In the View Members dialog, the Add People (+) button can also be used to create a group chat. After implementing this configuration, the button is no longer visible.
If students have previously created or joined spaces, they can search for them and rejoin them by typing their names. Safe Doc removes all existing spaces from search results.
The rule configuration to disable group chats and chat rooms is BlockChatRooms. To prevent Safe Doc from blocking the chat space option, set the policy value to false in your configuration. Although Google renamed ‘Rooms’ to ‘Spaces’, we are not changing the name of the background compatibility policy.
