Once you’ve created an account and chosen how many meals you want to receive, how many people you’re eating with, and what type of food you want, you can dive into the app.
The most important part of the application is “my menu”. Here you determine which dishes you will receive based on delivery time. You need to choose what you want to eat a little less than a week in advance, otherwise you’ll just end up with the first options in the box. Luckily, you can plan your trip several weeks in advance.

In the box you get cardboard recipe cards containing everything you want to know, but you can also cook using the app. When you tap a recipe on the My Menu screen, you see exactly what you need and what you need to do. So you are essentially promoting the company and getting paid for it. If you don’t mind it, this is a good way to get a discount. This is only possible if instead of a free box you give your friends a discount.

The app can stop your boxes, but HelloFresh doesn’t make it easy for you. To do this, go to your profile and click the “Edit” button. There you select the active block that you want to stop.
At the bottom, select Stop Delivery. The app then tries to tempt you with benefits or adjustments, but this time you click the unobtrusive “Cancel Anyway” button at the bottom.
Then you indicate why you want to cancel and something strange happens. You have two buttons: “I don’t want to cancel” and “Cancel”. With both buttons it feels like you don’t want to cancel anyway. In any case, you will have to click the “Cancel” button. Then your mailbox will indeed be cancelled. An already ordered box for which it is too late to customize will still be delivered and charged.
