According to Downdetector, an outage monitoring website, the situation had improved as of 01:30 AM on July 23, with reports dwindling to 58, compared to around 600 outage reports at 12:58 AM.

From the graph on the platform, it looks like the outage affected the platform at 6:00 AM today. Of the affected users, about 46 percent experience website issues, 50 percent report server connection problems and 3 percent reports are app-centric.

Redditors are facing issues while loading posts, comments and images. “Keep getting a ‘We had a server error…’ message every time I load a post. Images in posts don’t seem to load either,” said one user, according to Downdetector. “Comments don’t load about 99 percent of the time. If you refresh a quarter of a million times, the comments will appear. Images are also very hit or miss,” said one yet.

Reddit Is Still A Mess

Twitter users are also complaining about the loss. “Reddit is down the hall, buddy,” said one user. The issue remains unclear as Reddit has not issued an official statement at the time of filing. Reddit also faced disruption on July 18 when search found high error rates. The company has recently come under fire for changes to its API that drew massive backlash.

For more updates, users recently complained about personal chats (before January 2023) disappearing from the platform. The company confirmed that due to a move to “new infrastructure”, messages sent from January 1, 2023 will be moved. Here’s how you can get them back.

While the situation improved around 02:45 PM (July 22) with reports dwindling to around 110, by 12:02 AM (July 23) reports crossed the 600+ mark.

Users who tried to access Reddit on both desktop, mobile and the app reported issues loading pages – many were seeing a blank screen with an error message saying something like ” sorry, we can’t load posts for this page” or “something went wrong”.
